A great way to make an original and sincere gift for a child or an adult is to sew an author's textile doll. An adult will put her on a shelf, which will add coziness to any interior, and a child will be happy to play and sleep with a soft doll that keeps the warmth of familiar hands. In addition, the creation of textile dolls is a rather fashionable hobby today - many needlewomen are engaged in rag dolls, create their own sketches, and come up with new techniques.

It is necessary

knitted fabric of light pink or beige color for the doll's body, filler - foam rubber or synthetic winterizer, colored fabric for doll clothes (depending on what you plan to dress it in), yellow, brown or black woolen threads for hair, buttons for eye, thread, scissors and a needle

Instructions

Step 1

When starting to make a doll, first make a sketch. Think about the color of her eyes, hair, what clothes will be worn on the doll, possible accessories.

Step 2

Now you need to make patterns for the doll's body. You can download them on handicraft sites, or you can form them yourself, especially if you have at least a little experience in sewing.

Step 3

After you transfer the patterns to the fabric, it should be cut out. If you plan to have side seams, then you can simply cut the parts by folding the fabric in half with the front side inward. Thus, the details will be absolutely identical.

Step 4

It is necessary to sew parts from the inside out, leaving a small gap for stuffing them with foam rubber. After the blanks have been stitched, turn them out with a pencil and fill the inside with soft padding material. Sew the holes with a blind stitch. With the same seam, carefully connect the parts - head, torso, arms and legs, together.

Step 5

After you have made the doll's body, you can move on to creating her face and hair.

Step 6

To make doll hair, use a matching color of woolen thread. Use a ruler to measure the distance from the middle of the doll's head to the desired length of future hair. Double the result and twist a skein of thread of this length. The hank should be large enough to cover the entire head of the doll.

Step 7

Distribute the threads evenly over the entire head, take a needle with a thin thread of the same color as the hair and sew the hair to the middle of the head with a needle forward seam, forming a sort of parting. Try to sew the threads pretty tightly to each other. Cut the ends of the threads already sewn and wrap the seam with thick thread to hide it. Now you can make the doll a hairstyle: braid braids, tie ponytails.

Step 8

Next, move on to making the doll's face. You can embroider the nose or paint with acrylic paint, or you can cut out a small circle from the same fabric from which the doll's body was sewn, fill the part with foam rubber and sew it to the face with a blind seam.

Step 9

Eyebrows and mouth are embroidered with a needle-forward stitch or applied with paints. You can also paint the eyes or sew buttons or beads in their place.

Step 10

Your doll is almost ready. It remains only to sew her a fashionable outfit and give her some sonorous name.
