The textile envelope can serve as a stylish accessory, a place for storing documents and just papers or a case for a tablet.
It is necessary
- paper
- pencil
- ruler
- scissors
- needle with thread
- patterned fabric
- plain fabric (for lining)
- thick thread (~ 10cm)
- button
Instructions
Step 1
We draw the base for the envelope on paper, then cut it out. Try folding the base into an envelope to see what happens. If you don’t like the result, redo the base and try again until it’s perfect.
Step 2
Now take a colored fabric for the front and a solid color for the lining. The paper base must be attached to the fabric, outlined with a pencil and cut out along the outline of the base of the envelopes.
Step 3
Take a thick thread and pin it to the corner of the lining to make a loop. Then carefully, but as firmly as possible (if it comes off, it will be difficult to sew back on) sew it to the lining.
Step 4
Sew on 2 pieces (front side and lining) and then turn out so that the seams are inside. Do not forget about the loop, it should be on the outside. Smooth out the resulting envelope.
Step 5
Fold the base like a real envelope and connect the sides that touch each other. If it works out neatly, but at the same time, the edges of the envelope are firmly connected, and if you take high-quality fabric for lining, then the envelope can be made double-sided.
Now sew on the button so that the buttonhole wraps around it when the envelope is closed.
Step 6
Done! Now you can use the envelope as a clutch bag or storage for papers, or you can think of some other use.
