The origins of the Tarot are unknown, but some believe that the cards came from Ancient Egypt, China and India. The mythical period of their history up to the fifteenth century is discussed in almost every book devoted to this system, but it is the beginning of the 15th century that is considered to be the point of historical reference.
Divinators use Tarot cards for divination, namely to predict the future. The querent can have a specific question or can form a request for a general diagnosis of the events taking place with him. The deck of Tarot cards consists of 78 cards, 22 of which are called Major Arcana.
This part of the deck is endowed with special traits or characteristics, for example, the Lovers card is presented as a necessity or a fact of difficult choices based on love, sex and emotions. The rest of the cards are divided into four suits, similar to the standard game set of cards. Groups of staves, bowls, pentacles and swords are four families, each with four major cards in suit - king, queen, knight and page.
The divinator is tuned to the session. Either he himself, or the questioner, shuffles the cards, and then lays them face down in a given pattern or linearly, that is, in a row. The layout is chosen depending on the nature of the question asked and the skill level of the fortuneteller.
The cards are then turned over in turn and each card of the outline is interpreted according to its position. If the cartoman sticks to the meanings of the inverted cards, then they usually have a negative or weakened meaning. Each person usually has their own intuitive understanding of what the images mean.
General values are given in the instructions that usually come with a tarot deck. It often happens that the personal and general meanings of card interpretations are the same. This is consistent with Carl Gustav Jung's idea of the collective unconscious and of working with archetypal images, which are symbols common to all cultures, ages and religions and therefore indicate an inherited shared meaning.
There are a huge variety of decks using themed symbols, such as the Demon Tarot or the Celtic Tarot. The Tarot system is a particularly popular tool among spiritually developing people and is highly available for purchase via the Internet or in specialized departments of esoteric or bookstores.
However, it will not be superfluous to seek help in choosing the first tarot deck from a consultant or knowledgeable cartoman. Or find a union of like-minded people in your city for initial thematic education. Such communication experience contributes to an increase in the level of self-organization and confidence in their strengths and abilities.
