Step 1
To begin with, you need to make a base triangle, which will serve as the basis for creating various models. You can, for example, make a cowboy hat, cap, etc. Lay the newspaper on a flat surface where it will be most convenient to work. Expand it to a fold (first fold). Make two diagonal folds along the folded edge towards the center. Tuck the edge of the newspaper that protrudes from the bottom of the folded triangle twice. Fold the second edge in the same way. The base of the headdress is ready.
Step 2
To assemble the cap, turn the bottom rectangle back one turn. A visor will be formed from this element. The second rectangle will function as a band, that is, the carrying rim of the cap. Bring the left and right corners of the triangle from the edges to the center, forming the size of the headgear. If the hat is intended for an adult, the closing edges should be brought together only with a slight overlap. To determine the exact size, it is recommended to try on a piece at this stage.
Step 3
Gently fold the excess edges and form a visor. To do this, fold the protruding rectangle again, this will give the product strength. Carefully fold the edges underneath the rim. Place the upper protruding corner of the former triangle under the rim of the cap from the back of the head. Also bend the lugs on the right and left inside the rim, thereby giving the headpiece the final shape.
Step 4
If you need to make a hat like Little Red Riding Hood, then, having formed the base of the headdress, visually divide the upper corner, equal to 180 degrees, into three equal parts. Then fold the left and right sides of the triangle towards the center, as if you were folding them together. Fold the bottom three layers up at once. Bend the bottom of the cap with a "slide".
