Russian folk dolls still captivate modern craftswomen with their beauty and simplicity, despite the fact that they have existed for many hundreds of years. The folk motanka doll carries a lot of positive emotions that the craftswoman puts into it, and keeps the old traditions of the Russian people. Anyone can make it - to create such a doll you do not need expensive or rare materials, and to make a doll you only need scraps of fabric, trimmings of braid and yarn, ribbons, beads and other materials that can be found in a needlework box.
Instructions
Step 1
Take a narrow, long piece of heavy fabric and roll it into a roll. Wrap the resulting roll with a piece of white cloth and tie it at the bottom to form the head and neck. Wrap the head with a piece of woolen yarn so that the threads form a cross on the doll's face.
Step 2
Take another piece of dense fabric and roll it into a narrow long roll, and then tie it vertically to the doll's head, wrapping the future body with woolen threads along its entire length. Roll another roll of thicker fabric, for the doll's arms, and tie perpendicularly with woolen threads to the upper body. You have a fabric crosshair wrapped in yarn.
Step 3
Now make a wig for the doll - cut the yarn of a suitable color into strips and gather in a bun. Then fold the bundle of threads in half and tie in the middle with a thin thread to form a parting. At a short distance on either side of the parting, braid two braids and tie them at the ends with threads or ribbons.
Step 4
Choose a rectangular piece of fabric for your blouse that is as wide as your arms. The pattern or design of the fabric can be any, and you can also decorate the blouse with ribbons and braid as you wish. Make a hole for the head in the center of the segment. Insert the doll's head through the hole.
Step 5
Separately select a piece of fabric for the skirt and fold it in several layers to create a fluffy skirt. Decorate the hem of your skirt with ribbons, lace or braid.
Step 6
Wrap the skirt around the doll's body, and then take the ribbon and tie the doll at the waist so that you tie the top of the skirt and the hem of the blouse at the same time. Tie the sleeves of the blouse with threads on the doll's wrists.
Step 7
Attach the prepared wig with braids to the doll's head and decorate the hairstyle with beads and flowers.
The reeled doll is ready.
