Felt is a very handy material for crafts. From soft, but dense and pleasant to the touch matter, you can create magnificent toys, jewelry, small souvenirs and interior items. Sewing from felt is easy, it does not crumble, does not shrink, it goes well with other materials and various finishes.

It is necessary

  • - pieces of felt of different colors;
  • - paper for patterns;
  • - flat magnet;
  • - scissors;
  • - glue gun;
  • - needle and thread;
  • - cord;
  • - beads or sequins;
  • - cotton wool, sawdust or plastic balls.

Instructions

Step 1

It's better to start with an easy-to-sew item - for example, a funny fridge magnet. It will decorate the interior or become a small but pleasant gift. Pick up a small piece of felt in a delicate shade like pink. Draw a heart pattern on a sheet of thick paper or cardboard. Fold a piece of felt in half, place the template on top and cut out 2 pieces. Then zigzag the blanks along the right side, leaving a small hole on the side.

Step 2

Stuff the product with cotton wool or padding polyester to make the heart voluminous. Then carefully sew the incision on the machine. Cut a small circle out of felt of a brighter shade and use scissors to fringe around the edges, turning the blank into a mini-chrysanthemum. Use a glue gun to glue the flower to the heart. You can attach a pair of beautiful beads or sequins to the center of the chrysanthemum. Glue a flat magnet on the back. The souvenir is ready.

Step 3

You can make original Christmas tree decorations from felt. They turn out to be very light, so you can decorate with such crafts not only a tree, but even small spruce paws. Pick up several pieces of felt in different colors. The brighter the shades, the more spectacular the owl will turn out.

Step 4

Make patterns of parts from paper. Choose the size arbitrarily. Cut out 2 identical ovals from blue felt - blanks for the body. Add small seam allowances. Cut a circle out of pink felt - the belly of an owl. For decoration you need a small heart made of red fabric, for the eyes - two identical mugs made of white felt. Cut the beak out of yellow or beige fabric, it looks like a small triangle. Thread the needle with a thick white cotton thread and start assembling the toy.

Step 5

Sew the heart to the belly first. Perform the work with straight small stitches "forward to the needle". When finished, sew the belly to the bottom of one of the torso blanks in the same way. The next step is sewing on the eyes. Lay the stitches neatly, stepping back a few millimeters along the contour. Finally, attach the beak with two to three stitches in the center.

Step 6

Fold the torso pieces together and sew along the edge. When the work is almost finished, spoon into the toy with sawdust or small plastic balls. The owl should turn out to be voluminous, but not too bloated. Sew the hole and secure the thread. Attach a thin cord loop to the top of the toy. The finished owl can be hung on the tree. To complete the composition, make several felt birds of different colors and sizes.
