Old used markers are a wonderful craft material that allows you to create bright, original things. Crafts from felt-tip pens not only develop the child's imagination, but also turn out to be very useful in everyday life.
Wall clock made of felt-tip pens
To make children's wall clocks, you will need a ready-made clock mechanism with arrows, which can be bought in handicraft stores; used markers and a round plastic lid. Using pliers from the markers, remove the core and container of paint, leaving an empty body. It is desirable to select the colors of the cases bright, saturated and in harmony with each other.
Using a tailor's meter, measure the circumference of the plastic cover, divide it into 12 equal parts and mark them with a pencil. With a thin drill, the diameter of which is slightly less than the diameter of the felt-tip pen body, holes are made on the sides of the lid and in its center. Alternatively, you can use a heated nail. Fine-grained emery paper is used to smooth out all the irregularities in the holes obtained. The bodies of felt-tip pens are inserted into the holes, harmoniously matching them in color, the clock mechanism is placed on the back of the lid, fixing the arrows on the mechanism with the help of the central hole.
Pencil holder
A beautiful, bright and original pencil holder can be made on the basis of any plastic container: rectangular or round. To do this, old markers need to cut off the tip with a rod: an electric wood burner or a portable soldering iron with a cutting attachment is best suited for this work. After that, a container for paint is removed from the body of the felt-tip pen.
Using a nail heated over a fire or a thin awl, one through hole is made at the edges of the felt-tip pen body. It is advisable to mark the places for the holes with a ruler and a marker so that all felt-tip pens have the holes at the same height. The body of the felt-tip pen is applied to the plastic container and at the same height where its holes are, mark and make two holes on the lower and upper edges of the can.
Felt-tip pens are strung on a fishing line or thin wire through their upper and lower holes, trying to beautifully select the bodies by color. After that, the container is wrapped with the resulting structure, the ends of the fishing line are threaded through the holes into the inside of the can, tightened and carefully tied. The finished pencil holder can be decorated with a bow, small appliqués, paper flowers.
Lamp
To make a night light, you will need a lamp holder and a wire with a switch, which are sold in hardware stores. At the felt-tip pens, the tip with the rod is cut off, after which, with the help of glue, a "well" is assembled from them: the rest of the markers are placed on the bodies laid in a square, leaving a small distance from the edges. If you do not cut the rod and use markers together with the caps, then you can make a wider lamp.
The height of the lamp should be such that the lamp screwed into the socket does not look out over the edges of the lamp. Inside the structure, two felt-tip pens are fixed at the desired level with glue, which will serve as a support for the cartridge. The cartridge is secured with clamping rings, after which a light bulb is screwed into it. It is important to remember that for such a luminaire, only energy-saving lamps can be used that heat up little and cannot melt the walls of the luminaire.
