It is necessary

  • - parquet acrylic varnish;

  • - spray paint of white color for automobile or acrylic;
  • - green acrylic paint;
  • - masking tape;
  • - scissors;
  • - brush;

Instructions

Step 1

Before proceeding with the restoration of heels, it is necessary to completely remove the old covering from them. After this procedure, rinse the heels thoroughly and allow them time to dry completely.

Step 2

Sand the dried heels with sandpaper. Such grinding is necessary in order for the surface to be treated to become smooth and even, but at the same time rough. Thanks to this procedure, decoupage will last much longer.

Step 3

Taking masking tape, wrap it around all those areas of the shoe that will not be involved in the restoration. Only the heel should remain open. Then apply white spray paint to the surface of the sanded heel. Thanks to the white paint, the applique, which will adorn the heel, will retain its colors and brightness.

Step 4

Print the selected motif on a color laser printer, then treat its colored side with acrylic parquet varnish. First, the varnish must be applied horizontally. Once the first coat is completely dry, apply the second coat vertically. As a result, the motif should be covered with 5 coats of varnish.

Step 5

After allowing the varnished motif to dry completely, turn it over to the colorless side. After wetting the paper layer with water, wait for it to get wet, then carefully begin to remove it. It is advisable to do this evenly. Moisten this printout with water if necessary.

Step 6

Wrap the heel with a piece of tracing paper - it should be exactly the same size as the heel. After redrawing all the bends, transfer the resulting pattern to the colored applique.

Step 7

Apply acrylic parquet varnish on the heel, and on it, respectively, glue the cut out printout. Carefully cut off any excess motif with scissors. After the varnish has dried, cover the glued motif with another layer of varnish and put the shoes back to dry. Repeat this procedure several times.

Step 8

The heel has acquired an unusual, but very bright colorful look! If you wish, you can decorate the strip on the platform with green paint. To make the paint last much longer, mix it in equal proportions with acrylic parquet varnish.
