It is no exaggeration to say that in every home there are denim items that no one has worn for a long time. No need to throw anything away - the second life of jeans can be even more interesting than the first. You can make sure of this by making original things from old jeans with your own hands.
Patchwork quilt from old jeans
Go through your wardrobe, take away unnecessary denim things: out of fashion, torn, small. Rip them apart at the seams, separate and set aside belts, pockets, labels, belt loops. Iron the details and sort by color. You can make a patchwork blanket from old jeans of different colors. For a blanket measuring 145x190 cm, 216 squares with sides of 19 cm are required. To make the blanket textured, some of the details can be cut out of wool-blend checkered or striped fabric.
Fold the parts in pairs with the wrong side inward and stitch, stepping back from the edge by 1.5 cm. You will get 108 blanks - sew each diagonally. Lay out a drawing from the finished blocks and sew them into strips, 12 pieces each. in each. Place all seams on the right side. Connect the strips together. Use scissors to cut the seams every 8 mm and fluff them with a stiff brush.
Panel organizer from jeans
You can also sew a wonderful panel organizer from old jeans. For the base, you need a dense cotton fabric. Cut out a 75x75 cm square, lay it out on a flat surface. Fill the box with pieces of denim scraps, overlapping them. Secure them with pins and sweep them away. Remove the workpiece from the base and connect the shreds together on a typewriter. Then quilt the fabric: mark the middle with chalk and sew the first seam. Parallel to it on both sides, lay seams, each time retreating to the width of the foot.
Iron the canvas, trim the edges. Stitch on pockets, pockets and other decor. Sew the canvas to the cotton base. Stitch the product around the edge with belts. Sew a drawstring to the bottom edge of the wrong side and insert a wooden block into it. Sew carpet rings to the top edge.
Old jeans bag
Using the same technique, you can sew a bag from old jeans. Take a base of any size - this will be the lining. According to this size, assemble the front part of the bag from the denim pieces. Make handles from the belt and sew to the top. Fold the fabric in half and stitch along the sides. Do the same with the lining. Join the top and lining together and sew over the edges with the same fabric as the handles. At the top, lay two parallel stitches for the drawstring, make two small holes in the middle line, insert the lace into the drawstring. A jeans bag will last for years and will only get better over time.
