Despite the huge variety of patterns, the knitting technique is based on two types of loops - front and back. Thanks to them, you can turn any idea into reality - from a simple garter knit to a complex intricate pattern.

Step 1
Garter knitting belongs to the category of simple patterns, however, despite this, it can be knitted in different ways. For the manufacture of a sample (or product), it is important to be well oriented in terms of the front and back loops. Some needlewomen are good at facial, to others - purl. However, both of them will be able to knit garter stitch - each in its own way.
Step 2
Cast on 15-20 stitches on the knitting needles, remove the first one (this is an edge loop that forms an even edge of the product). Make sure the working thread is at work. Insert a knitting needle (in your right hand) into the loop, grab the thread with it and pull it out. As a result of the actions, a new one will be obtained. Carefully discard the used eyelet from the knitting needle. Continue doing the same with the others. As a result, the entire row will be knitted with front loops. Now start knitting the second row in the same way - knit. In order not to be mistaken, make sure that the working thread always stays at work. Thus, keep knitting the stitch pattern. The result is a garter stitch.
Step 3
The same simple pattern can be tied with purl loops. To do this, dial 15-20 pieces again, remove the first edging. In order to knit the purl, pay attention to the working thread, which should now be before work. Insert a knitting needle into the loop, grab the thread (away from you) and pull it out. Carefully discard the used loop from the knitting needle. Follow the same steps with the rest - and the whole row will be knitted with a purl pattern. Knit the second row again with the purl, although it is more convenient to perform the facial according to the pattern. In order not to disturb the pattern, be sure to make sure that the working thread is in front of work. Continue working, row by row, purl only. You will get a pattern, also knitted with garter stitch.
Step 4
Garter stitch can be knitted with threads of not only one color, but also different ones. In order to use a variety of yarns correctly, you must first make a sample and analyze it. Cast on 15-20 loops and also knit it only with front loops. Make 1-2 rows in one color (for example, red), knit 3-4 rows in a different color (for example, blue). Then, while continuing to knit, alternate the selected two colors every two rows. Despite the fact that all the loops are the same, the front and back sides will be obtained on the sample. The obverse will have red and blue stripes, each with two rows. But the seamy side will turn out with stripes through each row, that is, more frequent. Although, focusing on the sample, each needlewoman independently determines the front side for herself.
