Do-it-yourself underwear with love is a rather rare thing today. It is easier and faster to buy the necessary wardrobe item in the nearest clothing store. However, a handmade product looks especially cozy and can be a wonderful gift. Try to sew family panties for your beloved spouse - he will definitely appreciate your efforts. One of the easiest ways to sew them involves only two cut elements.

Instructions
Step 1
Make a pattern of family briefs from a piece of cotton. It will consist of front and back halves. The easiest way is to take as a basis the cut details of an old product of a suitable size, spacing it at the seams. If you have a certain skill, you can draw your own drawing of future clothes. In this case, it is necessary to take into account the following points: find out the length of the future product, hip and waist coverage. Consider the allowance for a loose fit along the hip line. It can be from 2 to 8 cm, depending on the individual characteristics of the future owner of the thing. Make a drawing of the family panties on graph paper so that it is more accurate.
Step 2
Fold the working fabric in half and put the finished pattern of two parts of the future product on it. If you carefully align the fold of the fabric with the cuts of the cut out parts, then you will not have to sew side seams. Circle the drawing along the contour with a solid line, and with the dotted line mark the seam allowance (1.5 cm wide). The two finished cut pieces must be perfectly symmetrical.
Step 3
Stitch along the inner thigh line on the family briefs. Lay the right side of the product face down and gently join the cuts. Mark the seam line with hand stitches and sew on the sewing machine. Sew the left half of the panties on the sides in a mirror image. Carefully remove the basting.
Step 4
Turn one half of the garment inside out and insert it into the other part of the garment in such a way as to connect the upper, middle and lower sections of the two legs. Now you need to sew two pieces of family panties in the middle.
Step 5
This can be done using the so-called seam seam. Make a small (from 8 mm to 1 cm) protrusion of the lower edge of the leg behind the edge of the upper part of the panties. Gently bend the allowance around the top of the work. For better fixation, iron the resulting fold with a heated iron. Sew a very straight, shallow stitch no more than 5 mm from the fold. Unfold the Family Briefs to the right side and sew the last center seam that joins the overlap to the working blade.
Step 6
You just have to process the bottom edge of the family briefs and the drawstring on top. Do not forget to leave an unstitched place on it for threading the elastic tape.
