Step 1
If you have not used the gun for a long time, some parts may change their original characteristics due to wear and corrosion. For example, wooden parts, due to non-compliance with storage conditions (humidity, high temperature), may have cracks, breaks, etc. If it is a wooden stock in which a shotgun shoe is mounted, then you need to assess the degree of its wear. If the integrity of the tree is not violated at the location of the block, but there is damage to the butt, then it can be additionally strengthened with self-tapping screws, or wrapped with insulating tape. In no case should you cut (change the design of the factory weapon). This is illegal and punishable by law.

If there is a malfunction of the firing mechanism, the gun should be cleaned according to the instructions for the weapon. Check the suitability of the weapon for firing a shot. If the gun remains faulty, then you need to contact a weapons workshop licensed to repair this type of weapon. It is strictly forbidden to make any changes to the design of the factory weapon yourself, to give the weapon any additional properties.

If, due to improper use, there have been changes in the design or configuration of the barrel (or the barrels of double-barreled shotguns), then you should not try to independently give them their previous properties and shapes. This can lead to changes in the properties of the barrel and lead to unsafe use of the weapon.
