Quality things do not always live up to their old age. Buy a good expensive spinning rod, groom it, cherish it, and then either you accidentally step on it, or someone will put something on it. In both cases, the result is the same - an open fracture. A good spinning rod is expensive, and repairs in a shop or workshop will be at least half the cost. You can try to cure it yourself.

It is necessary

  • - file or sandpaper;
  • - pliers;
  • - drill and drills;
  • - old composite graphite fishing rod;
  • - burner;
  • - epoxy resin;
  • - rubber thread;
  • - paper;
  • - plastic bag;
  • - Super glue.

Instructions

Step 1

If the breakage occurs at the very tip of the tulip, try to fix the spinning rod as follows. Trim the break point on the main rod. Sand with a file or sandpaper to remove any paintwork.

Step 2

Take the tip with pliers and hold it a little over the fire. The glue should soften. Free the tulip from the broken section of the rod.

Step 3

Since the diameter of the new tip is slightly smaller than the new deburred tip, re-drill it with the correct diameter drill so that it fits snugly. If everything fits well, then apply a layer of epoxy to the rod and put on the tulip. Make sure it is parallel to the rest of the guides. Coat the area with resin again and carefully wrap it with a special thread (you can buy it at any fishing store). Let the product dry.

Step 4

If you break one of the rod knees in the middle, try to repair the spinning rod as follows. Remember, your task is to preserve all the properties of the rod, elasticity, lightness, information content - everything should remain. Cut a piece of the correct size from an old composite graphite rod. Use a pair of tweezers to scorch the epoxy. Remove a thin film from the remaining material (graphite cloth 0.2-0.3 mm). Moisten it if it breaks.

Step 5

To make the inner guide, roll a small piece of tissue paper into a tube and insert inward. Seal the fracture with epoxy. Let dry.

Step 6

Please note that the thickness of the layer of graphite fabric should be 30-50% thicker than the rod wall at the fracture site. Apply layer by layer of resin as needed. Wrap with cellophane and wrap tightly with rubber thread. It will squeeze out any excess resin.

Step 7

When everything is dry, remove the gum and cellophane. File the repair area with a needle file to the desired thickness and smooth the edges. Here, for rigidity, install the passage ring. Fix it with superglue and wrap it well with special thread. Lubricate the surface with epoxy, while choosing a glue that dries no faster than 40 minutes, otherwise it will not have time to saturate the graphite fabric. In addition, epoxy should not be afraid of water and ultraviolet rays.
