Redrawing images is a good way to get your hand at drawing. It is often easier to sketch a ready-made one than to create a picture from your head or draw an object from nature. There are several repainting methods.
Instructions
Step 1
One way to redraw is the squaring method. It is especially good when the original image needs to be scaled - enlarged or, conversely, made smaller. Break the sheet with the original image into equal squares, relatively large or small, as you like. Then take a blank sheet of paper and line it out over the same number of squares. Use a pencil to erase the mesh after redrawing. Examine each square of the drawing, study the location of the lines. Repeat the contents of each square on a blank piece of paper, following the lines.
Step 2
Another way is to represent the depicted object in the form of geometric shapes. For example, imagine a cat's head in the form of a circle, its body in the form of an oval, and its paws in the form of rectangles and circles. Sketch the object in the form of geometric shapes on a blank sheet of paper. Then adjust the shape of the cat: make the outlines more precise, add finer details. Finish the drawing with hatching, giving it volume, highlighting the more lighted and shadowed areas of the object.
Step 3
To maintain the proportions of an object, measure the ratio of any part of it to the image as a whole. For example, the picture shows a cat standing on its hind legs. Measure her head in height and set it aside for the height of the cat. How many times the length of the head will fit into the length of its body - this is their ratio to each other. Knowing this ratio, set it aside in dots on a blank sheet of paper. When drawing, start from these marks. Measure and compare proportions as you go along.
Step 4
Arbitrary redrawing. Try copying lines in random order. To do this, imagine that a drawing is a collection of lines, and not an object that carries a semantic load.
Step 5
Probably the easiest way to sketch a picture (or, rather, to copy) is to redraw in the light. Attach the original image to the window pane, on top - a blank sheet of paper. The contours of the image will show through - just trace them. Complete the drawing yourself, giving it volume and adding small details.
