A turtleneck is a versatile item that can be worn with a skirt or trousers. But by itself, it can be somewhat boring, so you can complement the image with accessories or decorate this wardrobe item with your own hands.
Instructions
Step 1
Liven up your look with stylish accessories. It can be large textured beads, a belt with a beautiful buckle worn over a turtleneck, a bright scarf. It is appropriate to use different color combinations - to play with contrast or vice versa, to choose accessories in harmonious shades. If you want to give an old thing a new life, try decorating it with sequins or flower appliqués.
Step 2
Make sure the turtleneck is free from frayed or dropped loops before starting work. If the defects are minor, embroidery will help to hide them. Iron the garment and mark the areas where you want to sew on the sequins. They can be arranged in the form of an ornament or parallel lines of different lengths in the shoulder area. To make it easier to work, create basting stitches along the outline of the design, or draw lines with a piece of soap or chalk. Sew flat sequins with two stitches, and raised sequins with beads. Try not to tighten the fabric of the turtleneck, make the stitches of such a size that the knitted fabric, stretching on the body, does not deform the embroidered pattern.
Step 3
Make flower blanks from ribbons to create an applique. You will need a transparent tape 3-4 cm wide. Cut a small piece, roll it into a loose roll. Grab the edge of the ribbon with a few stitches on one side, open the resulting bud on the other. Tie the edge of the bud, which is attached to the stem of the flower, with a green decorative cord or metallized floss. Arrange the flowers on the surface of the turtleneck, carefully sew with threads that match the color. Place flower legs made of floss or decorative lace under the buds, sew them with small stitches. The stems do not have to be straight, they can wriggle and form a certain pattern.
