Vladimir Shulimovich Fridman lives and works in Israel, where he moved with his family in the early 90s. The actor was born in the USSR, in Kursk, on June 20, 1959.

Childhood and youth

Vladimir Fridman spent all his childhood and adolescence in Kursk. Here he studied, played football with enthusiasm and did not even think about the theatrical stage. Moreover, the acting did not cause any delight in him.

Until the eighth grade, the boy was worried about his short stature and tried to compensate for his lack of excellent play on the field. Thanks to the desire to excel and hard work on himself, Vladimir became the top scorer and captain of the city's national team. And then he stretched out in height, and all the complexes disappeared completely.

When the time came to decide on a profession, the parents offered Vladimir a choice of several institutes. Friedman did not want to connect his life with medicine, pedagogy and agriculture, so he entered the Polytechnic Institute - where his father had once studied. Already in the second year, the young man realized that he hated his future profession and did not want to associate his life with it.

Acquaintance with the theater

Feelings for the girl were brought to the theater of Vladimir Shulimovich. In his third year, he fell in love, and his chosen one played in the folk theater. In order to see his beloved more often, Friedman attended rehearsals and played in extras, which was given to him easily and naturally. The atmosphere in the acting team was friendly, and Vladimir felt great in the new environment. Moreover, it was in the theater that he learned life in its new manifestation.

The first serious role was offered to Vladimir by the director of the Moscow Art Theater Vyacheslav Dolgachev, who became the head of the people's theater. At that time, he was staging the play "Dear Elena Sergeevna", in which he offered to play Fridman the role of a drunken drunk who is not afraid to tell people the truth and turns out to be a hero in the finale.

It was a turning point in the life of Vladimir. It was then that he realized that he did not want to do what his soul did not lie in and rushed to Moscow to enter GITIS, where he successfully passed and fell into the hands of Elina Bystritskaya.

Carier start

The acting activity of Vladimir Fridman was difficult and ambiguous - there was everything: both downs and ups. However, never in his life did he regret his choice, even when he had to leave Moscow for Tomsk - it turned out to be impossible to live in the capital without a registration.

In the new place, Vladimir immediately entered the service in the theater. There were many young people in the city, and it was interesting to play for such an audience. It was here that Vladimir played several main roles in the productions: these are Vampilov's Eldest Son, Williams' Glass Menagerie, and Bulgakov's The Master and Margarita, where Fridman got the role of Woland.

In Tomsk, Vladimir Shulimovich received the title of laureate of the Lenin Komsomol for his role in the production of Slavomir Mrozhek "Emigrants". This was the only Friedman award in Russia, and soon after that the artist left the country.

Actor's activities in Israel

Vladimir Fridman emigrated to Israel in 1991. Here he played more than twenty roles in theatrical productions (both in Russian and in Hebrew), and also acted in films more than sixty times; here his musical activity also began.

With his concert programs, Friedman has repeatedly visited America, Germany and Canada, New Zealand and the CIS countries.

For his contribution to the development of Israeli theater and cinema, Vladimir Shulimovich became a laureate of the Man of the Year award. In addition, he received the Actor of the Year Award for Best Actor in a Theater.

Personal life

Vladimir Fridman has lived with his wife for over thirty years. Lyudmila is not a public person and, according to the artist, it is not always easy for her to put up with his work on weekends and constant traveling. However, love, attention and harmony in their union are certainly present. How else to explain this thirty-year tandem?
