Step 1
Wash the lace before sewing as it will shrink in most cases. This can cause the fabric to shrink. Spread the lace on a soft surface with the wrong side up and iron it to maintain the relief of the lace pattern.

If you just need to sew on the lace without gathering, to do this, overlap the edge of the lace and baste, then sew on the machine with a "zigzag" seam. It is also allowed to sew with a regular simple stitch. Choose threads to match the color of the lace. You can sew it in the same way, with the difference that the folded edge of the fabric will be on top. In this case, the threads should be the same color as the fabric.

If you intend to gather lace, then first sew it along the edge with a wide stitch on the machine, gather it on a thread, and then baste it to the edge of the product. Then sew with a zigzag stitch.
Step 4
You can sew lace with bows or regular folds. Lace with a repeating pattern works well for this. Pinch the folds at regular intervals (regular or opposite) and immediately tack the lace to the edge of the garment. In this case, it is permissible to sew lace both along the edge and in its middle, which is quite often used for finishing.
Step 5
Lace is sewn not only along the very edge of the thing, but also in the middle, for example, along the yoke or at an equal distance along the entire length of the product. To do this, select the type of seam of your choice - a zigzag or a simple stitch.
Step 6
To sew on sewing (usually only one side is processed) for this, the main fabric is applied on top. In this case, you can use one of the decorative stitches, which are usually programmed in the machine quite a lot. In this case, the threads can be matched to the tone or vice versa, contrasting.
Step 7
Sometimes it is necessary to sew two pieces of lace fabric. If you sew with a regular stitch, you will get an ugly thick seam that “cuts” the pattern. To avoid this, lace must be calculated with a margin, which will allow a different sewing method to be used. Using sharp scissors, carefully cut the pattern along the contour, overlay it on the other part so that the pattern of one piece of lace fabric is in harmony with the other. Pin with needles, then baste along the contour and machine-sew with a fine zigzag stitch.
