Recently, things in vintage style are more relevant than ever. The lace parasol umbrella, with which noble ladies once walked, shielding themselves from the scorching sun's rays, was no exception. Today, these umbrellas are often used as a stylish wedding accessory, which can be made with your own hands.

It is necessary

  • - a cane umbrella with a working mechanism;
  • - 1.5-2 m lace stretch fabric;
  • - glue gun;
  • - scissors, needles and threads;
  • - a can of white paint.

Instructions

Step 1

Carefully remove the fabric from the umbrella, being careful not to damage it, as it will serve as a pattern for the future product.

Step 2

Carefully clean any dirt from the umbrella mechanism and paint the spokes and handle white with spray paint.

Step 3

Lay the fabric removed from the umbrella over the lace fabric from which the parasol will be made. Trim the lace according to the pattern, remembering to leave 5-6 cm for allowances.

Step 4

The lace fabric must be attached to the knitting needles of the umbrella with a needle and thread. This is not difficult to do, since it is easy to determine the attachment points on a polygon-shaped fabric.

Step 5

All corners of the fabric must be sewn tightly to the edges of the knitting needles, wrapping the thread around each knitting needle several times. For reliability, all the edges of the knitting needles must be additionally secured with a glue gun so that the sharp metal does not damage the fabric when opening the umbrella.

Step 6

The tip of the umbrella should look aesthetically pleasing, so it is best to decorate it with lace. It is necessary to cut a circle out of the lace fabric and secure it to the tip of the umbrella with a glue gun.

Step 7

Trim the edges of the umbrella to give it a finished look. If the fabric falls off, you can light it up with a candle or lighter. This should be done very carefully so as not to spoil the finished product.
