Step 1
Lambrequin on a rigid base, the bando, has been known for several hundred years. It is a wooden structure of a certain shape, covered with a selected fabric or decorated in some other way. It is the rigid structure that allows designers to widely use the gang in the creation of a certain interior. After all, it can be painted in the color of the walls or decorated with stylish drawings to emphasize the decoration of the room.
Step 2
First of all, develop a project for the future lambrequin. Carefully measure the length, height and width of the lambrequin, making allowances for the free placement of the curtain rod and curtains in it. The bando should be 5-7 cm higher and higher than the eaves. Make sure that it does not interfere with the free opening and closing of the window frame.
Step 3
Saw out the components of your lambrequin from plywood or fiberboard, following the obtained dimensions. You should have one front, two sides, one top. From the main fabric, make a pattern for the upholstery of all parts of the lambrequin, leaving seam allowances of 3.5 cm on each side.
Step 4
Glue the front and sides of the lambrequin. Reinforce it for strength with thin strips and studs on the back. Cover all parts of the lambrequin with batting or non-woven fabric.
Step 5
Sew the cut fabric for upholstery, decorate it along the contour with a decorative cord or inlay. Cut out a lambrequin lining from the lining fabric, sew it and sew it down to the base fabric. Put the resulting cover on the pasted lambrequin. Fasten the upper part of the cover by hand with a blind seam, gripping the base fabric and lining.
Step 6
Finish the top, lid, bando in the same way. Attach the bandeau lid to the top with the sides using small studs. Decorate the lid with a piping or cord manually along the contour, thereby covering its attachment points.
Step 7
Drill holes in the wall at the place where the lambrequin will be installed. Install dowels in them, attach the metal corners with fastener screws. Hang the finished lambrequin in place.
