How to make orange oil

It is necessary

  • - orange peels;
  • - any vegetable oil.

Instructions

Step 1

Dry or fresh orange peels can be used as raw materials for the preparation of oil. Thick-skinned oranges contain more medicinal elements, but any peel left over from oranges will work for oil preparation. Fresh peels can be boiled or washed in warm soapy water to remove the various compounds that oranges are used to grease in stores. Clean crusts should be finely chopped and slightly wrinkled. Then pour the prepared mass into a convenient cup - the crusts need to be crushed well so that an oily liquid appears.

Step 2

Fill the crusts with oil and leave for the required period. You can take any refined and odorless oil - olive, sunflower, etc. Keep track of the proportions - the oil should cover the orange peels by no more than 1 cm. The container with fresh peels can be left for only three days - at this time, the vegetable oil is saturated with vitamins and acids, absorbs aromatic compounds and useful components. Dry orange peels need to be infused for a week or two - they take longer to release the micronutrients. The jar does not need to be closed tightly, it is enough just to cover it with a lid and put it in a dark, but dry and cold room. In the process of infusion, air bubbles will come out of the container - this indicates that everything is going right, you just need to shake the jar periodically.

Step 3

Strain the finished composition. After the allotted time, the entire contents of the jar should be poured into a small saucepan and heated in a water bath for half an hour and with the lid half open to activate the substances and properties of the prepared oil. The cooled oil must be filtered through a two-layer piece of gauze and squeezed out all the crusts well - it is in these pomace that the main components of the composition are contained. You can pass the warm mass through a juicer. The finished oil must be poured into glass bottles, closed with lids and removed to a dark, cool place. Pour the remaining pomace with cold water, boil and leave to cool. The resulting broth can be used to add to the bath or rinse the body.
