Even a child will be able to cut a bathrobe. The oriental origin of these clothes is manifested in the simplicity of the cut and the practicality of the cut. This model does not require a fit, you don’t even need a fastener, as the wrap-around robe is held in place by a belt.

It is necessary

  • - two large terry or waffle towels;
  • - one small terry or waffle towel;
  • - tape measure;
  • - pins;
  • - crayon;
  • - scissors.

Instructions

Step 1

Measure from shoulder to shoulder and neck circumference. These are the only places where a robe has to be tailored to your individual size. Measure from your shoulder to your waist so you know where to attach your belt harnesses.

Step 2

Place one towel face up, and place another of the same size face down on top of it. Mark the middle of the top edge.

Step 3

Pin the pins to the left and right of the center of the top edge according to the measured neck circumference, plus 2.5 cm on each side. Pin the pins to the right and left of center according to the distance from shoulder to shoulder, plus 2.5 cm on each side.

Step 4

Mark the center of the towel with chalk, draw a V-notch from the pins marking the circumference of the neck to the center point, and from that point down a straight line to the bottom edge.

Step 5

Cut out the V-neck at the front and cut the top panel all the way along the line you have drawn. Sew the upper shoulder seams. Measure from the shoulder pins 30 cm down on each side, mark these points and draw two straight lines from them to the bottom edge.

Step 6

Also measure 30 cm from the upper left and right corners and draw straight lines until they connect to the previously obtained points. Connect the bottom and top fabric along the resulting lines to the left and right of the edges of the robe to the bottom edge, cut off the excess fabric.

Step 7

Tuck and finish the neckline and hem of the robe, as well as the edges of the sleeves. Cut a 15 cm wide and 105 cm long ribbon from the third towel for the belt. Cut two ribbons 5 cm wide and 12.5 cm long for the harness.

Step 8

Fold the waistband in half along the length with the right sides inward, pin the cuts on three sides, sew along one of the short sides and sew the long one, hand sew the other short side. Treat the harnesses in the same way. Sew the shoulder straps on both sides of the side seams where the waist is marked.
