It is necessary

duralumin sheets 3 mm thick, scissors for metal, cardboard, pencil, rivets, drill, edged board

Instructions

Step 1

Draw a drawing of the future boat. A fishing boat should be stable and roomy, but at the same time small and maneuverable. It is not at all necessary to make a keel in front. Americans and Germans. For example, they fish from boats that look like a trough, which have a transom both in front and in the back. But such boats are light and heavy-duty. In principle, you can take any small vessel as a basis for a boat, measure it and draw a drawing. The minimum height of the sides of the boat must be 350 mm. The angle of inclination of the transom to the water mirror should be approximately 30-400. A lightweight version of a fishing boat may not have frames (transverse frame set) and stringers (longitudinal elements). The rigidity of the bearing elements, sides and bottom, will be provided by the seats (banks) and the gunwale. The sides of the boat in front smoothly pass into an inclined trapezoidal transom.

Step 2

Draw a full size drawing on cardboard and assemble the future ship. When assembling, all design flaws will immediately come to light, which are easier to eliminate at the design stage.

Step 3

After making the model of the boat, transfer the markings to sheets of duralumin. Using metal scissors, carefully cut out the details of the boat. Make the necessary fit and hem.

Step 4

Drill holes for rivets in the seams (allowances per sheet) of the boat hull. The holes should be staggered in two rows with a 20 mm pitch. The distance between the rows is 15 mm. The overlap of duralumin sheets at the joints is 35 mm. Use rivets with a shank diameter of 3 mm in the underwater part of the body - with countersunk head, in other places - with a semicircular head. Coat the abutting surfaces with thickly rubbed paint to make them more tight. Rivet the body.

Step 5

Fit the 100x15mm pine planks along the top edge of the sides. Nail the gunwale to the sides with galvanized nails. Rivet corner brackets to the sides and install cans (seats) also from pine edged boards 30x250 mm.

Cover the boat with soil and paint. Wait until it is completely dry and put it in the water.
