The presence of a safe is a prerequisite for issuing a license for the acquisition and storage of weapons. The main requirement for the place of storage of hunting weapons is to ensure safety and prevent unauthorized access to weapons by unauthorized persons. Modern industry produces a sufficient number of various safes and cabinets for storing weapons and ammunition, but you can build such a safe with your own hands.

Instructions
Step 1
First, determine the required safe dimensions. Its height will be determined by the dimensions of the weapon, since not every sample can be disassembled for storage. A universal safe, suitable for the longest weapon, must be at least 1300mm in height. The width and depth of the storage should allow holding weapons with an installed telescopic sight, which can have sufficiently high brackets. The width of the safe will depend on the number of weapons you intend to store in it. The optimum depth and width are about 500 mm.
Step 2
Pick up the materials for making the safe. The Law "On Weapons" states that the thickness of the walls of a metal box must be at least 3 mm. Keep in mind that the container for weapons and ammunition can also be made of other durable materials, such as wood, upholstered with metal. The choice is yours. In addition to sheet metal of the required thickness, you will need metal corners for stiffeners and two locks, as well as metal canopies (three to five pieces, depending on the weight of the door).
Step 3
Cut out blanks for the walls, bottom, top and door of the safe. For cutting metal, use an angle grinder ("grinder").
Step 4
Assemble the safe from the parts by electric welding at the minimum value of the current strength, otherwise the metal may burn through and through. It is recommended to first test welding on unnecessary metal scraps. Start assembly from the back. To do this, lay it on a hard surface and weld the sidewalls to the wall one by one, and then the top wall. All welding points should be located inside the box at a distance of about 100 mm from each other.
Step 5
Having welded the base of the safe, give it rigidity by finishing the front part, where the door will be mounted, with a corner. First, weld the corner to the safe, and then weld its elements together from the inside of the safe.
Step 6
Reinforce the door cut out of metal in advance to stiffen the corner by welding it first to the door, and then weld parts of the corner to each other. The corner will also prevent intruders from trying to remove the door from the awnings in the locked position. Now drill holes for the two locks (as required by law).
Step 7
Proceed with the installation of the door. Weld the canopies to the corner through the screw holes. Now finish the installation by welding the door to the awnings.
Step 8
Craft an ammo box. It is more convenient to make it as a separate element, and only then weld it inside the safe through pre-made holes in the back wall.
Step 9
Paint and paste over the finished safe with leatherette. To ensure reliable storage of weapons, screw the safe to the floor with screws or anchor bolts, using washers.
