Despite the variety of crabs, their differences in size and color, it must be remembered that all crabs have the same body structure. So first sketch it out following simple rules, and then add individual features.
Instructions
Step 1
Start drawing the crab from its torso. It is covered with a strong shell, which has an almost round shape. Please note that in some individuals it is slightly beveled on the sides, but still symmetrical about the body axis. Mark with light strokes where you will subsequently need to highlight the bulge of the back with color. Also draw the thorns on the sides of the carapace with a pencil.
Step 2
When the sketch of the crab's body is ready, sketch out the legs of the crab. The back four pairs are of different sizes and thicknesses, it all depends on the type of individual. Each limb of a crab has four segments. Draw spikes at the ends of the second, third, and fourth pair of legs. The hind limbs end in a racquet-like blade joint. In some arthropods, the walking legs are covered with fine hairs. Draw pincers on the front legs, they look like wire cutters, with one grip smaller than the other. Most crabs have a much larger right claw than the left.
Step 3
After the crab has a shell and legs, you need to draw the head. She, like his entire body, consists of segments. Draw on the head two pairs of small antennae and eyes, they look like periscopes raised up.
Step 4
Now start coloring the picture. Remember that the color of the shell, claws and limbs depends a lot on the individual's habitat. Therefore, if you are painting a crab living in algae, use greenish and olive shades. If you are drawing a coral reef dweller, you need to draw him a variegated shell with a pattern. Highlight the bulge on the back of the crab, draw thorns on the shell and claws. Using a brush, reflect in the drawing that the claws are covered with many small protrusions, and the hind pairs of limbs are covered with hairs. The hard, smooth material that covers the crab's claws is different from the chitin on the shell, so use different shades to reflect these features.
