The saddle for a cyclist is perhaps the most important part (after the wheels, of course). And while sports saddles can still be found in specialized sports stores, the choice of saddle models for ordinary bicycles does not shine with variety. This is especially true for older people who ride bicycles to their summer cottages or shops.
It is necessary
a saddle post with a pad from an old bike, two old sports bike saddles with a plastic base, bolts and nuts, rubber about 3 cm thick, upholstery material
Instructions
Step 1
Use a metal hacksaw to cut off the seatpost plate so that a small, narrow strip remains. Drill two (three) bolt holes in it.
Step 2
Saw the narrow front off of both sport saddles by about a third. Secure the two saddles with the cut pieces overlapping each other, secure them with two (three) bolts through and attach them to the seatpost pad strip.
Step 3
Screw the nuts onto the bolts from the back of the strips. Now, on one side of the structure, the heads of the bolts are visible from above, and on the other lower side, the bolts tightened with nuts are visible.
Step 4
Take a piece of rubber and glue it with rubber glue over the structure. Cut off the excess with a knife.
Step 5
Sew a removable cover onto the saddle, sew in two zippers or buttons at the bottom, so that you can easily remove the cover and wash it or wipe it from dirt.
Step 6
The saddle is shaped like a figure eight, which is very convenient for traveling. Keep in mind that the material for the cover can be leather from an old jacket, synthetic material, leatherette. The cloth top is the most comfortable, as the clothes slip on it less. In addition, it is easy to wash or replace in case of mechanical wear.
