Drawing a person is quite difficult, but it is even more difficult to draw a face. Recently, more and more people want to learn how to draw anime characters. Fortunately, their faces are similar, so it is enough to familiarize yourself with the general concept of drawing the faces of cartoon characters and comics in the anime style.

Instructions

Step 1

So, the first thing you need to do is draw a large circle. Divide the drawn circle horizontally into thirds and draw a vertical line in the center. If the thirds are not equal, it's okay, because the proportions can vary. It depends on the character's style. So it is not necessary to strictly adhere to the proportions in this case.

Step 2

Next, draw a small, short line just below the circle. The distance between it and the bottom of the circle should be equal to the height of the bottom third. This line will become the character's chin, so don't make it too short, otherwise the chin will be unnaturally sharp. By the way, changing the distance from the circle to the chin line is one of the ways to change facial features. Next, draw a couple of thin diagonal lines. These lines should touch the sides of the circle and the edges of the future chin line.

Step 3

Next, fill your face with "flesh" so that it is not too thin. Draw two rounded triangles around the edges of the face. You can experiment with the thickness of these triangles and the height of the cheekbones (the place where the triangles bend) and thereby achieve a change in the character of the character being drawn.

Step 4

Now that we have the basic shape of the face, we can start drawing the eyes, mouth and nose. The position of the eyes is different for different characters (though not essential). In general, they should fit inside the lower third of the circle. The nose will be half the height of the same part of the circle, and it should be drawn directly over it. The mouth is drawn under the lower third.

Step 5

Next, erase the diagonal tangents and detail the eyes. Now you have a basic face shape ready, and you can add whatever you want to it, be it hair, headwear, jewelry, scars, tattoos, and more.
