On May 11, 2004, the first issue of the reality show "Dom-2" was released on the TNT channel. For 10 years of being on the air on the TV project, a lot has changed. One thing remains unchanged - the unprecedentedly high ratings of the scandalous show.
Accommodations
The first participants lived in wooden barracks. There were two bedrooms - male and female, a kitchen and three small VIP-houses for couples in love. Gradually, the territory grew to the size of a small village. New buildings appeared. The participants cared little about the cleanliness and comfort in the premises provided to them. Spectators had the pleasure of observing mountains of dirty dishes in sinks, walls covered with stains of unknown origin, piled up items of newly appeared stars.
In 2014, the TV set moved to a new location. Now on the territory of the project there are two comfortable cottages for couples with children, they are occupied by the Gobozovs and Pynzari. The rest of the participants live in a two-story house with a huge equipped kitchen, bedrooms for boys and girls, and three separate rooms for couples in love. The territory of the project resembles a picture from an advertising brochure of a resort. White fences, manicured lawn, sauna and two swimming pools.
Freedom of communication and movement
“You can't leave here. You can only fly out of here”- with these words Ksenia Sobchak met the first participants in 2004. At first, there was a strict principle of selection of participants. Initially, there were 15. At the general voting, the guys decided who should leave the project. And the next day, a new member appeared. This system did not last long. Spectator immunities, castling and unscheduled voting appeared in the practice of the show. Some participants made the decision to leave the project on their own, many of them soon returned, not finding themselves in life outside the perimeter. Alexander Zadoinov, Nastya Kovaleva, Andrey Chuev, Liza Kutuzova and several other, especially rated, participants made "comebacks" 3-4 times.
Initially, the rules of the project prohibited the use of telephones, the Internet, and free travel outside the perimeter. There weren't even TVs in the houses. The participants were essentially isolated from society, while being at the same time 24 hours a day under the sights of television cameras, which were installed even in bathrooms and toilets. The current participants are on social networks almost around the clock, each has a phone. By agreement with the organizers, they can leave the perimeter of the TV set for several hours or even weeks. Participants call this “taking a day off” or “going on vacation”. Reality shows are work for them, for which many get very good money.
