Flowers planted in autumn bloom 2-3 weeks earlier than those planted in spring, and look much stronger and more viable. Therefore, it is better to plant some types of flowers before winter.
For the successful planting of flowers in the fall, a garden bed is prepared. It is dug up and the necessary fertilizers are applied. Then, as for all podwinter crops, special grooves up to 5 cm deep are made in the garden, depending on the size of the seeds. Some perennial flowers do not germinate well and require a mandatory alternation of low and high temperatures. It is better to plant such plants on the garden bed in special containers, for example, plastic containers or wooden boxes. Peat or humus is poured into them with the addition of sand and a drainage layer up to 3 cm thick.
The sowing bed is located in elevated places, which are reliably protected from drying winds. Annual flowers are best planted immediately in a permanent place in a flower bed.
