On June 2, 2014, the first episode of the mini-series “Sweet Life” was shown on the TNT channel. A complete course of Moscow life, a movie about love in the era of rollback - this is how the creators of the series position their creation.
The plot and main characters
The plot revolves around the lives of six residents of the capital. They are young, rich and successful. Igor is the owner of a fashion club who changes women like gloves. His friend Vadim is a Moscow official, the bulk of whose income comes from kickbacks. All Vadim's property is prudently registered with his wife. Vadim's wife Natasha is a plump and neglected 30-year-old woman who is trying by all means to return the attention of her husband. Lera is Vadim's mistress and part-time yoga coach of his wife. Julia is Natasha's friend, the spoiled daughter of very rich parents, dreams of getting pregnant. Mark is her fiancé, whom Yulia's loving daddy arranged for a director in his shopping center.
The whole life of the heroes changes when the girl Sasha comes to Moscow from Perm. A single mother, forced to work as a dancer in a club, flees from an annoying admirer to Moscow to her friend Lera, with whom she once danced in the corps de ballet of the Bolshoi Theater.
All metamorphoses with the main characters occur within 8 days. The filmmakers managed to put all the twists and turns of the plot into 6 episodes, each about 45 minutes long.
Reasons for the popularity of "Sweet Life"
First, frankness and realism. The producers of the picture assure that the plot is based on real events. That the heroes and situations are written off from themselves or from their acquaintances. There are a lot of nude scenes in the picture, and this always arouses the interest of the viewer. Eduard Matsaberidze - the performer of the role of Tigran - admitted that he had a serious quarrel with his girlfriend because he played the bed scene too naturally.
Secondly, a powerful advertising campaign. TNT sold the right to premiere "Sweet Life" to a well-known online resource. This is the first time in the history of Russian television. 3 weeks before the show on the TV channel, the series could be watched on the website Amediateka.ru. On the Internet, the series was a resounding success - the second place in the ranking, ahead of only the fourth season of "Game of Thrones".
Third, new faces. Almost all the actors involved in the series are little known to the wide audience. For Marta Nosova - Sasha - this is generally a film debut. Before that, she was a professional dancer. We recognize Anton Batyrev - the stripper Vitya - by his role from "Real Boys". Lukerya Ilyashenko - Lera - also appeared on TNT. In the series "Studio 17" she played the complete opposite of Lera - the innocent and modest girl Lika.
Should I wait for the continuation?
There will definitely be a continuation. Moreover, the script for the second season was written before the premiere of the first. The creators of the series were waiting only for the reaction of the viewer. And since the reaction followed, and very stormy, the script was put into production. The second season will consist of eight episodes, with a premiere scheduled for early 2015.
