I don't think there are too many keychains. Now they are lost, then they break, then the keys are generally lost with the whole bunch. Let's make many, many keychains from scrap materials. In reserve!

It was not for nothing that I chose such a wording for the title of the article - having started to create such keychains, it really does not make sense to stop by making one or two. Put on colorful keychains for the whole family, and different ones, so as not to confuse your keys!

For the craft, you will need: multi-colored scraps of fabric (any fabric left over from sewing dresses, jackets, skirts will do), key rings, threads in color or contrasting, a needle or a sewing machine, scissors (preferably a zigzag, but ordinary ones will also work), you will also need beads, buttons, and other materials to decorate the keychain.

Helpful advice: you can also use felt, leather for this craft. For the eyelet connecting the decorative part of the keychain and the key ring, you can use part of a narrow women's belt, part of a watchband.

Work process:

1. To get a neat keychain, start by making a pattern (template). Cut out several circles, ovals from paper or thin cardboard. Adjust their size according to your needs and your own taste.

2. To sew one keychain, cut two identical round pieces of fabric, cut a strip of leather.

3. Fold the two pieces of fabric, wrong side to each other, insert a strip of leather folded in half between them, sweep and sew the keychain with a straight stitch.

Helpful Hint: Please note that if your fabric is too thin (chintz, satin, etc.), you will need another layer of fabric to keep the keychain in shape. Cut the seal out of leather, felt, thick wool, or thin plastic and place it between the base layers of the fabric.

3. Slide the finished keychain onto the key ring. Complete the keychain with a decor of small buttons or beads, beads.

Helpful hint: if you want to decorate the keychain with an appliqué in the form of a letter, as in the photo, or of any other shape, the applique must be sewn on before performing step 3. The same applies to the embroidery on the keychain.
