Foxtrot is a European ballroom dance that became popular at the beginning of the 20th century. Foxtrot elements are still relevant today, they are used during a slow dance in pairs. The dance attracts at the same time with its lightness, grace and elegance.
Instructions
Step 1
To learn foxtrot, choose suitable slow music such as blues. Try taking four steps forward, springing slightly with each step. Consider this: one - right leg forward, two - spring step, etc. Using the same analogy, take four steps back. Since the foxtrot is a pair dance, follow these steps in pairs. To do this, the partner must take the lady by the hand and take her to the side at chest level, and with the other hand hold the partner behind her back above the waist. The partner puts her free hand on his shoulder. If the partner starts with the left foot, then the partner, respectively, with the right.
Step 2
Foxtrot is danced in a circle counterclockwise. Turn 45 degrees to the left and take two springy steps forward (count: one-two, three-four). Then you need to turn right 90 degrees. To do this, on the count of five, take a step to the left and turn to the right, six - put your right foot. Next, take two slow steps back with your left foot, then for a count of five - turn left 90 degrees with your left leg, for a count of six - put your right. Then repeat these movements in pairs.
Step 3
To practice the next movement, stand with your back to the center of the circle, transferring your weight to your right foot. Take the left one to the left for a count and put it on the toe, on a count of two - turn the body 45 degrees and gently place your right foot on the heel. On the count of three or four, move your torso to the right (to do this, lower your right foot to the floor) another 45 degrees. Five to six - place your left foot. Count rhythmically.
Step 4
Repeat this movement three more times. If you did everything correctly, you should be in the same place where you started the steps. Then repeat the movement in pairs. Your task is to make a full turn. By the way, it can be done in two so-called steps, that is, repeat this movement two times, increasing the width of the steps. Combine all the movements and dance them to the music. The sequence can be varied according to the wishes of the partners. The main thing is to listen to music and "float", surrendering to the gentle and elegant pas of the European foxtrot.
