Making a figure is not as difficult as preparing for work, but everything is up to those who want to make their dreams come true.

Step 1
In order to make a sculpture out of ice, it is necessary to prepare this very ice, since tap water is not suitable for it. It becomes cloudy when frozen. You can order artificial ice. Some firms are engaged in its manufacture.
Step 2
Decide how big your sculpture will be. It depends on its size and weight whether you need special equipment for loading and transporting ice.
Step 3
Mold a small figure out of plasticine - a blank that you will sculpt. It will freeze and not deform.
Step 4
Dress lightly but warmly so that your clothes do not restrict movement. If the block of ice is too large, then you will need a chainsaw to cut it into pieces that are more comfortable to work with.
Step 5
To make a small figure, you will need a pair of straight and angled scrapers. It is very convenient for the corner ones to make grooves, decorations and indentations in the ice. It is easy to cut edges with a straight scraper. You can use chisels instead of scrapers, although this is not so convenient because these tools have small handles.
Step 6
If your ice is cut into not very large cubes, then you need to stack them on top of each other and spill the joints of individual parts with water. Continue doing this until you have a block of the correct size for the sculpture.
Step 7
Wait until the cubes freeze together and start processing the ice with a chainsaw, then with scrapers.
Step 8
The scrapers are constantly dull, since there are a lot of impurities in the water that ice consists of, so the tools need to be sharpened from time to time.
Step 9
After finishing the shape with a chainsaw and scrapers, you can smooth out the sharp edges left by cutting tools with a blowtorch. To do this, light a blowtorch and heat the ice surface until it melts slightly. The outlines of the sculpture will become smooth. Do not bring the flame from the blowtorch too close. this will not speed up the process, but will only undermine the surface of the finished product.
