Rose is an excellent model for a still life created by an aspiring artist. It can be depicted in color, but at first it is important to learn how to work with a pencil correctly. Start by drawing a flower in stages with a simple lead - it is likely that you will end up with a very elegant sketch.
It is necessary
- - white paper for drawing or sketching;
- - the tablet;
- - a set of pencils of varying degrees of hardness;
- - eraser.
Instructions
Step 1
Decide which rose you want to represent. It can be a bud with tightly closed petals or a fully open lush flower. To make the image extremely realistic and accurate, stock up on a photo of a rose - this way you will understand how best to apply shadows and highlights.
Step 2
First, build the base of the future flower. On a piece of paper, draw a long cone with no base. Draw a spiral inside the widened part of the cone - a hint of tightly closed petals.
Step 3
Start to “dress” the rose. Around the core, draw a smooth line extending from the flared portion to the base of the cone. Step back half a centimeter from the first line and draw a second, closing at the base. The result is a tight-fitting petal with a turned-back edge.
Step 4
Repeat the technique by drawing another petal on the other side of the cone. Gradually draw the following. The petals should go in a circle, gradually expanding. Do not forget to draw the folded edges - this will make the flower lush.
Step 5
After giving the rose enough volume, draw wide-spread outer petals. They look like uneven semicircles. Make the edges of the petals slightly angular, and draw a fold in the center with a light stroke. Do not strive for geometric correctness - the beauty of a living rose is in its asymmetry.
Step 6
Once you've finished sketching, start painting highlights and shadows. Darken the inner part of the petals with light strokes, while at the same time tracing their outlines with a thinner pencil line. Use a soft, sharpened lead for blending.
Step 7
Place thin stripes of shadow along the fold outlined in the middle of the outer petals. Darken the core of the flower. When applying eyeshadow with an eraser, remove unfortunate strokes. Trace the paths with a thin but bright pencil line.
Step 8
Examine the drawing. You can supplement the flower with leaves if you like. At the bottom of the picture, draw several wide sheets with jagged edges. Mark the veins with thin strokes and paint over them in a light gray tone. Erase the auxiliary strokes and trace each sheet with a soft pencil.
