Despite the fact that hopping or jumping is an old trick, not all shooter fans know how to do it correctly. The trick itself appeared back in the mid-90s, when all advanced gamers played Quake, then there was Half-Life, and, of course, it could not get around the Counter-Strike side. In general, bunny hopping is a trick that allows the player to effectively dodge enemy fire by jumping around. In different versions of CS, the speed of the player when jumping is different - in version 1.3 the speed increases, and in 1.6 it decreases.
Instructions
Step 1
There is an opinion that jumping can be done only by entering special scripts in the console - indeed, this is one of the options for performing a jump. However, on many servers, these scripts are considered cheats, which leads to the user being banned.
Step 2
And learning how to do bunny hopping without cheats is very simple, you just need patience, diligence and a few hours of free time.
First of all, you need to "bind" the jump on the mouse wheel in any direction. To do this, write the line in the console: bind mwheelup "+ jump" (wheel up) or bind mwheeldown "+ jump" (wheel down).
Step 3
In general, you are already ready to perform the jump, however, when jumping, you still need to be able to correctly perform strafe, such turns during the jump that you remain facing the goal all the time.
Step 4
If you have standard settings, i.e. W = "+ forward", A = "+ moveleft", D = "+ moveright", Ctrl = "+ duck", mouse wheel = "+ jump", to strafe you need to press the following key combination in sequence.
Hold W and hold until you reach top speed. After the speed limit is reached, turn the wheel on the mouse and release W. At the moment when you kick off the ground, press D or A and smoothly move the mouse in the direction you intend to turn. If you hold D - to the right, and if A - to the left. Ctrl should be pressed only just before the very moment of landing, i.e. the closer to the ground you press this key, the further you fly away.
Step 5
After the strafe is brought to automatism, move on to the hopping workout.
Hold W and pick up speed. Then release W and take a jump, press the right strafe D and simultaneously rotate the mouse to the right. After touching the ground, take a jump, press the left strafe A and simultaneously rotate the mouse to the left. Then, after landing, press the strafe to the left D and simultaneously rotate the mouse to the left, and so on.
