In color, groups of cells can be located without gaps, next to each other. Otherwise, solving a color Japanese crossword puzzle is based on the same principles as solving a black and white one.

It is worth noting that the Japanese crossword puzzle is quite difficult and it will not work to paint over the cells of the playing field at random.
