A good song can lead a separate life beyond the control of the author. It can become legendary, it can be interpreted in different ways, and it can also become the anthem of a whole generation. It is interesting that the creator cannot influence what is happening, even if he tried to explain what meaning he wanted to put into the words of the song, and what circumstances prompted him to create the composition. Such was the story of the songs of Viktor Tsoi, the soloist and leader of the legendary rock group "Kino".

Change

In early 1985, Viktor Tsoi composed the song "Changes". The premiere of the song took place at the fourth festival of the Leningrad Rock Club, which was attended by director Sergei Soloviev. By coincidence, the director needed musicians for the final scene of his film "Assa". Sergei invited Viktor to take part in the film, but on condition that the group does not perform the song "Changes" before the premiere of the film. The Kino group readily agreed to this proposal.

During perestroika, drastic changes took place in the USSR, and many began to criticize the authorities. The phrase "We are waiting for change" acquired a new meaning, and the composition was called "a song of protest." Viktor Tsoi always argued that he was not a fighter for change and put a completely different meaning into the lyrics of the song, which had no political overtones. In one of the interviews, the author noted that he hoped that people would eventually understand the true meaning of the song, but it turned out the other way around. "Changes" became an anthem for many political parties, public organizations, popular movements and protests against Victor's wishes.

Eighth grader

Even before Viktor became the leader of the Kino collective and a legendary performer, he studied at a vocational school to become a woodcarver, while working on a local rock band. The talent of the vocalist, guitarist and songwriter was noticed by local residents, in particular, the compositions were to the taste of underage girls. Victor met with one of the fans for some time, which prompted him to create a romantic song "Eighth grade girl". In the near future, this composition took the 47th place in the rating of the best songs of Russian rock, which was compiled by the radio station "Nashe Radio".

Blood type

Many legends are shrouded not only in the name of Tsoi, but also in the songs written by him. Viktor Tsoi wrote the song "Blood Group" secretly from all the musicians from the "Kino" collective. He came up with the lyrics, composed parts for musical instruments, and then invited his colleagues to rate it. The musicians liked the song and even became the title song in the group's sixth album. It is surprising that Choi never told anyone about the meaning he wanted to put into this composition. The fans have made many guesses, although none of them have any reinforcements. According to the most widespread version, it is considered that the lyrics of the song "Blood Type" are dedicated to the armed conflict in Afghanistan. According to other fans, the film "Star Wars" inspired Victor to create the song. The song "Blood Group" entered the rating of the best songs of the twentieth century, and was also covered by such famous musicians and bands as Butusov, "Vopli Vidoplyasova" and "Yoon Do Hyun Band".
