Notes are the basis of musical literacy. Being able to read them is important for those who want to learn to play a particular musical instrument. And although there are only seven notes, the parts for different hands and musical instruments are signed using different keys: violin and bass.
Instructions
Step 1
First, learn all the notes. There are seven of them: do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, si. They are placed on the stave, which consists of five parallel lines drawn horizontally.
Step 2
According to legend, the bass or fa clef was invented by Mozart for a more accurate sounding of the "fa" note. It is located on the staff just on the line corresponding to this note in a small octave. This is the fourth line.
Step 3
The bass clef is used for the left-hand piano part, for double bass and bass, and for low-pitched vocals. The presence of a bass clef on the stave indicates that the piece should be played below the "C" of the first (or central) octave of the piano.
Step 4
To learn how to read notes in the bass clef, you need to move from the "F" note down or up.
Step 5
Remember the notes located on the outer rulers. In the bass clef, the lower line is written "G", and the upper - "la".
Step 6
Next, learn three notes from the middle rulers: "si", "d" and "fa" (on which the curl of the bass clef is drawn).
Step 7
Between the lines (from bottom to top) are the notes: "la", "do", "mi", "sol". Remember that on the bottom ruler of the staff and the upper interval there are the same-name “G” notes, as well as on the lower interval and the upper line of the staff. In the bass clef, this is the note "la".
Step 8
Below the bottom ruler is "fa", and above the top - the note "si".
Step 9
Then learn additional rulers. The first supplementary at the bottom is "mi", and on the supplementary at the top is written "do". Note that it is written the other way around in the treble clef - on an additional ruler after the staff.
Step 10
Memorizing the location of the notes in the bass clef is easier by combining theory with practice. If possible, read first and then play the notes recorded in F-clef. If you don't have a tool at home, you can replace the keyboard with a photo drawn or printed on a printer.
