A bright intriguing name for a children's fairy tale is a chance that both the child himself and his friends will want to read it. But the best names are invented, oddly enough, by children, intuitively grasping the laws by which this amazing genre exists.

There are literary and folk tales, tales for the smallest and oldest. By a fairy tale, we can understand satire, an anecdote, and a magical story. All varieties of these texts have long been described by scientists. They also compiled a classification of names, a typology of plot moves.

The name, first of all, answers the question, what is this fairy tale about? If the plot is another variation on the theme of the relationship of characters familiar to children (fox, wolf, bunny, hedgehog), then the name of the tale can be its storyline, a brief description of the plot. "How a fox shared a pie", "How a hedgehog and a bear cub learned to fly." Folk tales are often named after the main characters. For example, "The Fox and the Wolf", "The Brave Hunter and the Hare". In the name of the tale, you can take its morality. If the tale is about how the character got rid of greed or found new friends, then the title can include the question: "How to find happiness?" or "Where do good people live?" Sometimes a proverb or a saying becomes the name of a fairy tale. For example, "For a bad head - work for the legs."

Ask the child. While an adult wanders in the abstruse wilderness, trying to make the name more weighty and intricate, the child's mind will instantly give out a paradox, a mischievous joke or a well-aimed word that he has just invented. If this is a fairy tale that is being composed for a children's literary circle or school theater, then it is worth brainstorming on the topic: "Looking for a name for a fairy tale." Creative group play is a good training for little storytellers.
