Kanzashi is a traditional Japanese jewelry for women. They are made from different materials, but the flowers for these decorations are made from silk. The flowers are called Hana-kanzashi. Flowers similar to Hana-kanzashi were made from ribbons, and the technique for making them was called kanzashi (due to the incorrect pronunciation of the word "kanzashi").
It is necessary
Ribbon 4-5 cm wide, needle, threads, scissors, candle, matches
Instructions
Step 1
To make a rose, you need to prepare 25 petals from pieces of ribbon. We make segments of the following size:
9 segments 9 cm wide.
9 segments 6 cm wide.
8 segments 4 cm wide (from seven segments we will make petals, from one segment we will make a bud).
Step 2
It is imperative to singe the edges of the segments so that they do not fall off. To do this, you need to hold the tape over a burning candle at a short distance (about 1-2 cm). The main thing is that the tape melts and does not burn.
Then, from the seamy side of the tape, bend the edges as in the photo and sew with thread. The thread must be well secured on the right side of the petal.
Step 3
We pull the thread so that the ribbon gathers on it and the base of the petal changes its shape.
Step 4
It turns out 25 petals.
Step 5
Let's start assembling the flower. We make a bud from the remaining segment 4 cm wide. It just needs to be folded in a triangle and stitched. Next, we sew petals from 4 cm cuts to the bud. 1 row: consists of two petals (counting from the bud). 2nd row: consists of three petals. 3 row: two petals 4 cm.
4 row: 4 petals 6 cm. 5 row: 5 petals 6 cm. Next, sew on petals 9 cm wide.
