For many years, genetics and flower growers have been trying to breed blue roses, but by nature a rose does not contain a blue pigment gene, which means that its petals cannot have blue shades. But scientist breeders from Japan still managed to grow blue roses through many years of work and crossing with other plants. Although there is another way to color roses, an easier and faster one, which is available to each of us.
It is necessary
White rose, blue ink, water, jar
Instructions
Step 1
The process of painting a rose is simple and takes from 15 hours to a day. It is necessary to take a white rose and cut the leaves first, otherwise they will also give in to color, and the bud will take longer to stain.
Step 2
Pour one hundred grams of room temperature water into a jar and add ink. Stir the water well. The consistency of the paint should be one shade darker than the expected rose color.
Step 3
Cut about an inch diagonally from the stem. This is necessary for better hydration, that is, water absorption.
Step 4
Place the rose in colored water for at least 15 hours. The stem must be immersed to a level of about three centimeters. Remember to periodically watch the rose paint as it can absorb more paint than you expect. As soon as the bud is colored, remove the rose and place it in plain water.
