How to thread the bobbin thread? This question is faced by all novice seamstresses, even those who are already more or less confidently threading the upper thread. Meanwhile, it often depends on the correct position of the shuttle whether the machine will sew at all.

It is necessary

  • Sewing machine
  • Shuttle
  • Spool
  • Threads

Instructions

Step 1

Wind the thread around the bobbin. This can be done either by hand or on a sewing machine. Manually - just wind the threads loop by loop. Try to do it evenly, without loops or knots. There is a special pin on the bottom of the sewing machine, exactly the same as the one on which you put the spool. Place a bobbin on it. Unwind some thread from the spool and wind it around the bobbin. This is necessary so that the thread does not slip during mechanical winding. Then turn the flywheel. In this case, the thread will be wound around the bobbin, and the needle holder will remain stationary. Turn the handle of the machine or press the pedal. Make sure that the bobbin turns in the same direction in which you have already started winding the threads.

Step 2

Break or cut the thread. Remove the bobbin from the pin. Place the flywheel in its original position. Raise the needle clamp to the up position.

Step 3

Take out the shuttle. It can be horizontal and vertical, but it is filled in almost the same way. Consider a shuttle. You will see that on the outside it has an oblique slot covered with a metal plate, and on the inside there is a pin. Place the bobbin over the pin. The direction of winding the thread must match the direction of the slit, otherwise the thread will break and the bobbin will jump out of the hook very quickly. Insert the thread into the slit and pull it out a little. She should move freely.

Step 4

On the outside of the bottom of the shuttle, you will see a still sharp ledge. Look into the shuttle device. There you will see a groove that is shaped like this protrusion entered into the groove. Press down slightly on the bottom of the shuttle so that it enters the shuttle. If the shuttle is in the correct position, you will hear a slight click.

Step 5

Now you need to pull the bobbin thread out. This is done using the upper thread, which, of course, you have already tucked in and inserted into the needle. Raise the foot. Lower the needle holder with the needle by twisting the handle or depressing the pedal. The lower thread should catch on the upper thread and crawl out, forming a small loop. Pull out the eyelet and pull the thread out a little.
