Anthurium is a wonderful houseplant with original flowers. Leaves of anthuriums are large and elongated, heart-shaped, dark green in color. Despite the general popularity among amateur flower growers, anthurium is considered quite capricious in growing and caring.

Step 1
Anthurium needs a high air temperature, as it is a heat-loving plant. In summer, the air temperature should not fall below 20-27 degrees, in winter - not below 17 degrees. Place the flower pot in a place protected from direct sunlight, otherwise the inflorescence and bracts will shrink and become deformed, and the leaves will lose their brightness and juiciness. Provide the anthurium with fresh air, but at the same time protect it from drafts.
Step 2
Proper watering is very important for anthuriums. The water should be soft, well-settled and always warm (boiled water can be used). Water the plant little by little, but regularly, do not overflow and stagnate water in the pan (drain constantly). Wash anthurium leaves regularly with lukewarm water and often spray with a spray bottle. Feed the flower with organic and mineral fertilizers every two weeks.
Step 3
In winter, anthurium rests, just like most other plants. When the temperature drops, the frequency of watering and feeding should be reduced. But at the same time, try not to allow the soil in the pot to dry out. Overflowing can lead to root rot, so there should be a good drainage layer at the bottom of the pot. Increase the humidity of the air for the normal development of the plant. Place a container of water next to the indoor flower.
Step 4
A young plant should be transplanted to an adult anthurium once every three to four years. The best time for this is spring. The capacity should be wide, but not too deep, since the root system of the anthurium is shallow. For replanting, use a fertile soil consisting of peat and sphagnum mixed with bark and wood ash. The substrate should be slightly acidic, light and loose.
