What do you need to create a goddess costume?

If you want to stand out from the crowd at a festive occasion, try this adorable Greek goddess costume. This process will not take much time, but you will look very impressive.

To create a creative image, prepare the necessary materials in advance. You will need: a sheet or white fabric, purple fabric, hairpins or other hair ornaments, brooches or decorative pins, a gold braid sling. Artificial vines with flowers can be purchased on request. And of course, shoes or sandals with long straps will complement the suit.

How to sew a goddess costume

First you need to measure the fabric for the future outfit. Cut two rectangles out of white fabric. However, the width of these rectangles should be 50 percent greater than the circumference of the widest part of your body. As for the length, the Greek costume should be spread across the floor. If you want the Greek goddess costume to be short, you will have to take measurements in a slightly different way. In this case, measure the distance from the neck to the desired length and add 20 cm to the resulting value. If desired, white fabric can be combined with purple. To do this, prepare a piece of purple fabric up to 360 cm wide.

Now you can start sewing. Sew the rectangles of the white fabric on the sides. Remember to leave holes for your hands at the top and bottom. The size of the free area of the fabric should not exceed 35 cm. The upper part of the rectangles must be sewn together in width, leaving a hole for the head. As a result, you should have a boat neckline. By the way, purple fabric is needed in order to drape the shoulders. Cut a piece of purple fabric to an appropriate length and sew it to your shoulders. You can sew the fabric into the seam that holds the two rectangles together at the top. The tunic should be dressed like a regular dress and the golden sash should be tightened around the waist. In this case, in front, the sling should form the letter X.

Be sure to add a faux vine wreath for a more complete look. One ring is sufficient if the vine is flat enough. If you prefer a more voluminous version, wrap another around one vine. Such a wreath will look very impressive and stylish. In principle, the wreath can be replaced with brooches in the hair or a solid hoop.
