Raising broiler chickens at home without knowledge is difficult, because this particular breed is the least resistant to disease and stress than chickens from other chicken breeds. This is due to the fact that broilers are fast growing birds, so they are more demanding on the quality of feed and keeping conditions.
It is necessary
- Broiler chickens
- Aviary
- Infrared lamp
- Lime-fluff (0.5 kg per 1 m2).
- Litter (straw cutting, shavings, rice and sunflower husk sawdust, peat)
- Compound feed
- Water
Instructions
Step 1
In order to breed chickens, you must first purchase them. Usually broilers are bred in a hatchery and poultry station or a specialized broiler poultry farm. It is best to buy birds of the following breeds: "Broiler-6", "Gibro", "Smena".
Step 2
One way to raise chicks is on litter. But before you put it into the room, you need to disinfect the floor with fluff lime. It is scattered on the floor, and a 5 cm thick layer of litter is made on top. In the future, the litter is renewed and poured at the rate of 2 kg per broiler.
Step 3
Keeping chicks warm is important in raising chicks, especially during the first weeks of their life. For this, heaters or infrared lamps are used. At first, the temperature in the room is kept high enough, about 24-26 degrees, and then it is gradually reduced, bringing it to 20 degrees in a month.
Step 4
Feed the growing chickens in a variety of ways, add sufficient minerals (lime) and chopped greens to the feed. If the chickens were purchased in the spring, then fermented milk products can be added to their food. This has a positive effect on the digestive system of the chicks and enriches the feed with protein.
Grown up broiler chickens are usually fed with complete feed, the composition of which varies depending on their age. Access to food and water should be constant throughout the day.
Step 5
For the prevention of diseases, you need to monitor the density of poultry stocking. The denser the broiler population in the house, the lower the productivity of growth and weight gain will be in both chickens and adult birds.
