Napkins are an irreplaceable item on the table. They are put so that the guests can wipe their lips, hands, and also the tablecloth if they accidentally dripped on it. In addition, they can serve as table decor elements. When folded nicely, it will give the table a festive look. They can be folded in different ways. It is not necessary to fold and keep the same shapes. Several different folded options can be put. The easiest option is to fan the napkin.

Instructions

Step 1

Take a napkin - it should be made of thick canvas. A linen napkin is ideal. Of course, you can use paper ones, but they will not look so effective on the table, and at the time of folding they can tear. Fold the napkin in half with the front facing out and the fold at the top. Now fold three quarters of the entire length into an accordion, while bending the very first fold downward. Make sure the folds are straight and not protruding. Each subsequent fold, including the first, should be no more than 2.5 centimeters in width. Usually it turns out to be somewhere around five folds.

Step 2

Now unfold it so that the smooth part is on the right side. Fold in half so you have all the folds on top. Now this smooth and unfolded part needs to be turned into a support, thanks to which the fan will stand on the table or plate. To do this, gently fold the smooth part diagonally, as a result, you will get a kind of "tail", and carefully begin to tuck this support under the folded folds.

Step 3

After the support is ready, carefully place the resulting fan on the table and slightly straighten the folds so that bruises and irregularities are not visible. A correctly folded fan will stand on the table on its own thanks to a support made from a napkin not assembled into folds.

Step 4

If you want to put the napkins in the glass, then the support can be omitted. In this case, make folds all over the fabric, and lightly tie the end in a small knot so that the fan does not fall apart. Now gently lower this knot in a glass or in a special container designed for napkins, and fluff the folds to make them look larger.
