Step 1
Cut a length from the ball of linen elastic so that it is comfortable for them to pull together your hair. Instead of a linen gum, you can use a round hat.

Make a pattern. To do this, cut a rectangle out of paper that is two lengths of the cut elastic band and five to six centimeters wide. If you want to make a narrow elastic without massive additional trim, use a hat elastic, and make a pattern three centimeters wide.
Step 3
Find a fabric for your elastic. It is advisable to find an elastic, smooth fabric. However, elastic bands made of thin crinkled silk or cotton look good. Wide satin ribbons are also suitable for making this accessory.
Step 4
Cut a piece out of the fabric. To do this, iron the fabric, if necessary, and pin the pattern to it. Trace around the pattern with soap or tailor's chalk and cut out the workpiece, taking into account the centimeter seam allowance. Seam the cuts with a overlock stitch.
Step 5
Fold the resulting tape in half width, wrong side up. Baste and stitch along the long side to form a fabric tube. Turn the workpiece inside out. If the workpiece is very narrow, turn it inside out by pulling it over the blunt side of the pencil.
Step 6
Holding the elastic by the other end, thread it into the workpiece. Place the edges of the elastic on top of each other and sew. The ends of the hat elastic can be simply tied in a knot.
Step 7
Fold in the allowances on the short side of the workpiece and carefully sew the edges of the resulting "donut" from the fabric. The elastic is almost ready, it remains to add the trim.
Step 8
The hair tie can be decorated with a thin decorative cord, beads or beads. You can string light plastic beads onto a thin cord and sew the resulting piece of jewelry to the fabric along the seam. At the same time, fasten the last stitch in front of the bead with a knot and pull the thread through the bead inside the cord so that it is not noticeable on the finished product. The stitch made after the bead will also need to be secured.
