The history of the kite goes back more than 2 thousand years, and during this time kites have been used for a variety of purposes - from scientific to military. Currently, the manufacture and launch of kites has become a fun pastime and outdoor games.
The centuries-old history of the development of the kite has given rise to many of its designs, from the simplest, which can be assembled in one evening, to designs, which can take quite a long time to make.
In order to make a kite of the simplest design, we need 3 wooden square slats with a cross section of 5-8 mm. The length of the two slats should be within 700-800 mm, the third - 450-500 mm. We also need a large sheet of thin paper, although it is better to use lightweight plastic wrap for the canvas, because it is more durable. You will also need threads and glue, for example PVA or "Moment" and about 100 meters of fishing line 0.5-0.8 mm thick.
- We connect two long slats in the middle with the help of threads. We attach a short rail to the ends of two long ones so that on one side we get an isosceles triangle. We carefully glue the threads with glue and let it dry.
- Further, in order to make a kite, we stretch a plastic wrap over the resulting frame, which can also be fixed with threads and glue. The film should be well stretched and not sag.
- It is necessary to make and attach a snake bridle. To do this, attach a fishing line to each vertex of the resulting triangle. We connect each thread of the fishing line to each other. The length of the two strands that are tied to the edges of the structure should be approximately equal to the long side of the triangle. The third thread, which is attached to the center of the kite, should be somewhat shorter and the lifting force of the kite will depend on its length. So it is better to adjust its length at startup. A rope will be attached to the junction of the threads, that is, a long fishing line wound on a spool or a special reel, which can be made, for example, from a piece of plywood.
- Now you need to make the tail of the kite. The tail is a flight stabilizer, so its manufacture must be treated responsibly. The easiest way is to make a tail from a fishing line or thread several meters long, to which you can tie ordinary sheets of paper folded like an accordion. Such sheets must be tied at a distance of 15-30 cm from each other. You can think of another tail design. The tail length and weight may have to be adjusted at launch. Too heavy a tail will pull the kite down, too light will allow it to curl, causing the kite to fall.
That's all, our kite is ready for the first launch. It is best to fly the kite together, having previously unwound the line by 20-30 meters and start running against the wind. As soon as the snake starts to break free from his hands, he must be released and controlled with the help of a rope. It may not work the first time, but this is normal, in any business you need to gain some experience and everything will work out for you.
