A romantic openwork tablecloth can decorate any table. Needlewomen knit such things for months and even years, they are passed from generation to generation, but the cotton spinner tends to turn yellow over time, and sometimes you want something new, made with your own hands, and that you yourself could pass on to your children and grandchildren in inheritance.
It is necessary
- - cotton threads;
- - hook number 1-1, 25;
- - knitting pattern.
Instructions
Step 1
Thin cotton threads of any color are suitable for knitting tablecloths. The thinner the thread, the thinner the knitted fabric will be. So, use cotton thread number 10, "Iris", "Snowflake" or others. Crochet hook No. 1-1, 25 is suitable for knitting products from thin threads.
Step 2
In order for the future tablecloth to look good on your table, measure its length and width. If you want the edges of the tablecloth to hang, add 10 to 20 centimeters to these measurements.
Step 3
Knit pattern swatches to see how many pieces to knit. Wash the sample and dry it flat, as the cotton yarn may shrink after washing. Count how many elements will need to be linked.
Step 4
Change the pattern based on the size of the original pattern and the size of your sample. If your tablecloth needs to be larger than indicated in the diagram, add a few more elements. And if your tablecloth is smaller, then you should remove several elements of the scheme.
Step 5
Make a chain of air loops and knit in a circle, making the necessary increases. Make sure the circle is even. With the help of different loops, you can knit almost any pattern.
Step 6
Increase the rows in the following order: knit twice in the loop of the previous row, repeat this through the loop. In the next row, knit three loops. Continue in this manner until you have knitted the correct size napkin.
Step 7
Knitting a tablecloth is a very painstaking and long task. To make it easier for yourself, tie several elements, for example, several napkins, and connect them together with columns or elements from air chains. In addition, in this way, you can knit any tablecloth you like, the knitting pattern of which does not fit the size of your table.
Step 8
Tie an openwork edging along the edges of the finished product, for example, decorate it with teeth or lace. Lay a tablecloth made of fabric of a contrasting color on the table, and a knitted tablecloth on top of it, so it will look much more beautiful and will certainly decorate your interior.
