- - a sheet of paper - A4 format;
- - a fountain pen.
Instructions
Step 1
When creating a poster, it is important to take into account that at first glance it should affect the viewer and create the effect of a “glimpse”, in which the viewer instantly perceives information on the advertised topic and decides whether to get acquainted with the information closer. Therefore, pay considerable attention to composition, color scheme and text. Decide correctly on the place to place the poster. This may be the place where the intended target audience for your event gathers most (for example, in front of the entrance to the university building) or the place where a large number of people pass.
Step 2
Start by writing down on a piece of paper all the text data that will be on your poster.
Come up with a memorable name for your event that best reflects the essence of the announced event.
Write a summary of the event - a short text that carries information about the event. Ideally, if it consists of one sentence, a maximum of 3 sentences are allowed. The text doesn't have to be boring explanation. It could be a famous quote or slogan.
Indicate the date, time and location of the event.
List attendees and sponsors for the event.
If necessary, add the cost of entrance tickets and information on the dress code. For example, if your poster invites you to visit the carnival, then you can write that the entrance is masked.
Be sure to include your contact details for more information. Perhaps it will be a phone number or a website address where you can get more detailed information about the event.
Step 3
Now you can start working directly on the poster.
Lay out a piece of Whatman paper in such a way that it is convenient for you to work with it - on the floor or on a table.
The background is the basis of the poster. You can leave it white, you can paint it in one color, or you can paint a background image. The main thing is that the background is not colorful - all the text should be clearly visible on it.
Step 4
Write the name of the event in a large, beautiful and bright manner at the top of the sheet. For example, this can be done as follows: the first line in not very large print - "New Year's masquerade ball", the second line in very large capital letters - "MYSTERY NIGHT".
Step 5
Under the title, in the center, write the date and time in the same style and size as the text on the first line.
Step 6
Next, on the left side, indicate the venue, and below it contact information.
At the same height, on the right side, write a summary of the event.
Step 7
At the bottom of the sheet, place information about sponsors. This information does not have to be readable from afar and conspicuous, but it should be readable at close range.
Step 8
On the remaining free space in the center of the sheet, in a column, write the list of participants, and below them the cost of entrance tickets and information on the dress code.
Step 9
Decorate the poster with pictures. If you have photos of some of the participants in the event or pictures that are relevant to the topic, place them in an artistic mess in the empty spaces on both sides of the list of participants.
Step 10
Your event poster is ready.
