When performing many patterns, it is necessary to remove this or that loop without knitting. Which loop is removed and in what position the working thread is located is usually indicated in the description. The need to remove several purl or front loops can arise both when performing shortened rows, and when transferring part of the knitting to an additional knitting needle.

- - knitting needles for the thickness of the yarn;

- - safety pin.
Instructions
Step 1
To practice, tie the sample with a stocking stitch. It is more convenient than others because the front and back sides are clearly expressed there. Tie several rows and flip the work over with the wrong side facing you. Remove hem and insert right knitting needle from right to left into next purl. In this case, there is no description of the pattern with the loops removed, therefore the working thread can be in any position. Leave it on the side of the work in front of you. Drop the loop onto the right knitting needle without touching the thread. Purl the next loop.
Step 2
In the same way, drop a few more loops, alternating them with the purl. You will see that short horizontal lines of the working thread have formed in front of those loops that you did not knit. In the same way, you can alternate 2 knitted or untied loops.
Step 3
The purl loop can be removed in another way. In the same way, knit several rows of hosiery. Remove the hem and insert the right knitting needle into the next stitch, just not from right to left, but from left to right. Cast off the loop, leaving the thread in front of you. The loops in this case look a little different, but exactly the same horizontal lines are formed in front of the removed loops.
Step 4
Try leaving the thread on the other side of the work. Once tied to the desired row, remove the purl loop from left to right or right to left and see what you get. The purl loops are in front of you and there are no horizontal lines. They are now on the front side.
Step 5
The ability to remove purl loops is very important for double elastic. In the usual way, cast on the number of loops, twice as long as the length of the product. For the sample, you can dial an arbitrary number of loops. But keep in mind that the pattern will be 2 times shorter than the first row.
Step 6
Work in the first row with a regular 1x1 elastic. Turn the work over, remove the edge loop. Knit the front loops with the front loops, and remove the purl loops untied. In this case, the working thread should be in front of the removed loop. Knit the rest of the rows in the same way. Knitting is obtained in two layers, and the working thread is inside the formed "pocket".
Step 7
When knitting in shortened rows, it is most often the purl loops that have to be removed untied. Tie the product or sample to the desired height. Turn the work over, remove the hem loop and another 2-3 purl. If the purl loops are on the seamy side of the product, the thread should remain before work.
